Session 1

Economic Development

The first session of the Educator Workforce Academy kicked off with a foundational look at economic development and its connection to education, workforce, and local industry.
Forsyth County educators explored how business growth, population trends, and talent pipelines shape career opportunities for students in Forsyth County and the critical role schools play in supporting a strong local economy.

Through guided discussion and real-world examples, teachers gained a deeper understanding of how economic development decisions impact classrooms today and workforce readiness tomorrow, setting the stage for deeper engagement with local employers, community partners, and career pathways throughout the Academy.
