Technical College System & Forsyth County Industries
FOCO Works, in partnership with Forsyth County Schools Community Engagement and Lifelong Education hosted a session of the Educator Workforce Academy focused on the role of Georgia’s technical college system and its impact on workforce development.
During the session, educators heard from leaders at Lanier Technical College and the Technical College System of Georgia, who shared insight into dual enrollment opportunities and the high-demand, high-wage career pathways available to students through technical college certifications and degrees. The discussion highlighted how technical education provides accessible, career-ready options that align directly with employer needs.
The day also included remarks from Georgia State Representative Carter Barrett, who shared his personal perspective on the importance of education in shaping a strong, future-ready workforce.

To bring learning full circle, educators participated in industry tours with local employers, offering a firsthand look at the diverse career opportunities available to students right here in Forsyth County.
Thank you to Peachtree Orthopedics, ABM Industries, and BoldVu® for opening their doors and helping educators connect classroom learning to real-world careers.
